Presentations– Danica Lorer is an oral storyteller and spoken word poet from Saskatchewan. Her original work is rooted in memory and imagination with prairie characters and settings. She has told to audiences of all ages in a variety of settings and can adapt her presentation to students from pre-k to grade 13. Online performances are most effective when students are grouped according to grade range (for example pre-k-k, grades 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-13).  Presentations can include audiences up to 200 participants.

Workshops-  Danica Lorer has presented storytelling, story creation, character development, creative writing, genre adaptation, and nerve-busting performance workshops to people from 0-103 years old. Workshops can be tailored to your grade level and special needs and are best suited to a single classroom in order to be fully interactive.

Biography

Saskatchewan’s DANICA LORER has spent the past twenty years as a professional oral storyteller. She has been struck by lightning, a moose, a rogue semi-tire, vehicles, and the odd strange idea. She is a freelance writer, face and body painter, poet, event organizer, library programmer, and the host of Shaw Spotlight Saskatoon’s literary arts program ‘Lit Happens’. She has been published in untethered, TiP’s Poetry All Over the Floor, Grain, release any words stuck inside of you, Spring, antiLang, and Alice Unbound: Beyond Wonderland. Danica believes in the power of stories, of listening and telling.
